Bacolod City, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL–It is all systems go for the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos’ University Week celebration on September 10–15, 2018 with the theme: “Paghigugma kay Kristo, Pag-alagad sa Isigkatawo.” St. Augustine wrote, “If you love Christ, follow him.” Also, Pope Francis told everyone that the “love of God and love of neighbor are inseparable.” St. Nicholas of Tolentine , the patron saint of UNO-R, showed his great love for God by serving his neighbors and even extending his service to the poor souls in purgatory. “Love of God and service to Humanity”: these are the very foundation of our University Week 2018.
The highlight of the celebration begins with the religious activities such as the Septenary Masses in honor of St. Nicholas of Tolentine. On September 10, the feast day of St Nicholas of Tolentine, a procession and concelebrated Mass welcome employees, students, alumni and its stakeholders with the spiritual blessing from Bishop Patricio Buzon of the Dioccese of Bacolod.

UNO-R is greatly blessed as being the first Catholic University in the Negros Province with an autonomous status, PAASCU accredited programs, IQuame Category A(t), Center of development in IT Education and high employability graduates. The Recoleto way of celebrating the University Week 2018 challenges and engages UNO-Rians to build a community of service with emphasis on interiority, moral integrity, peace and justice, love and a passion for excellence.
