Kaoshiung City, TAIWAN–On the occasion of the Feast of St. Rita of Cascia, the Recoletos community of Taiwan celebrated a thanksgiving Mass in honor of the Saint and formally welcomed back Fray Giovanni Gil Magbojos to the community.

Fray Gio came back to Taiwan from the Philippines on April 29, 2021 and underwent 21 days of quarantine as mandated by Taiwan government due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The Holy Mass was celebrated inside the Chapel of St. Nicholas convent in Daliao District, Kaohsiung City. Due to the strict Anti Covid-19 regulation of Taiwan, only the four OAR Friars namely Frays Corvin Maturan, Joel Dequilla, Giovanni Gil Magbojos, and Nimrod Launio were present in the Mass.

Taiwan government, as per recommendation by its CECC (Central Epidemic Command Center), declared all houses of worship to temporarily halt all liturgical and religious activities starting May 15 until June 8, 2021 due to the rising cases of Covid-19 infections island-wide.

Bienvenido Fray Gio!
