BAGUIO CITYā€”Cofradia de Nuestra SeƱora del Pilar de Baguio accepted 18 new members on the feast day of Our Lady of the Pillar last October 12, 2021.

Rev. Fr. Anthony P. Irineo, OAR, welcomed everyone before the start of the acceptance rite, inviting the congregation to thank God for the blessing of new members.

ā€œ(W)e give thanks and praise to God who has led them by various paths to oneness in faith and piety,ā€ said the spiritual director of the cofradia.

On the same celebration, Rev. Fr. Bernard C. Amparado, OAR, Seminary Rector and Prior of the house, presided the renewal of the old members of the cofradia to their devotion to the Blessed Mother and membership to the cofradia.

The organization dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar accepted its pioneer batch last October 12, 2018, after a series of weekly formation classes. It accepted its second batch a year after.

Last year, the pandemic halted the recruitment of new members for the cofradia.

Currently the Cofradia is composed of 35 members.

After the acceptance and renewal rites, 37 Recollect seminarians publicly professed their devotion to Nuestra SeƱora del Pilar de Baguio and SeƱor Apostol Santiago.

ā€œTheir formation in the seminary and filial love to the Blessed Mother and the saints are sufficient reasons for them to be called worthy devotees and followers to a life of consecration and perfection,ā€ said Fr. Irineo.
