15th Sunday C

We all know the parable of the Good Samaritan narrated by Jesus in the Gospel. What the Samaritan did to the Jew half dead is too good to be true.
We are not provided with a category of persons or a list of individuals whom we must love. It seems, therefore, that Jesus called us to an expansive love…to love without LIMITS. To be a good Samaritan is a RISKY business.

LESSONS: Mga Aral na ating Makikita sa Ebanghelyo:
- Pagiging Bukas – Everyone is a neighbor, even those who are divided from us by religion, political differences, etc
- Paghahanda sa mga di- inaasahen …..the world is full of hatred — even those who hate us are our neighbors …kadalasan ang kinamumuhian ay siyang pinakabuti sa mata ng diyos…
- ibigin anng diyos sa pamamagitan ng pagmamahal at pagkahabag sa mga taong nangangailangan. Ang pag-ibig ay walang condition.
While the lawyer wants to know first who was his neighbor before he loves the person, the Samaritan did just the opposite.
Compassion is not enough…Christ asked: But who was the neighbor? The lawyer is forced to say: “The one who took pity on him!” Then Jesus says: Go and DO the same.
-let us not line up with the lawyer in the gospel and ask the wrong question: “Who is my neighbor?”
Instead, let us take our stance with Jesus and ask : “HOW CAN I BE A NEIGHBOR?”
-Let us not ask the wrong question as the priest and the levite did: “WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME IF I STOP and HELP the VICTIM?”
-Let us ask the question that the Samaritan did ask: “WHAT WILL HAPPEN to the VICTIME if I DON’T STOP and HELP the HIM?”
