Nicholasians visit Sagrado 3 Area
For the bigger schools, it might be a common act to have an Outreach Program with a sense of sustainability. The Administration, Faculty, Staff and students share this vision by adopting a barangay in Talisay City, an area apostolate of the Parish in Sagrado 3.
The Director and Principal, Rev. Fr. Sixto M. Bitangjol, OAR laid down the project during the planning session last summer to adopt a barangay that will have a sustainable development among the residents of a certain barangay in Talisay City. The Campus Ministry Office through Fr. John Zachary Haguisan, OAR identified Sagado 3 Apostolate as the viable place for the Outreach Program and Livelihood Project. The identified programs were rosary making and native food baking lesson. On October 9, 2016, the selected group of faculty members and students joined by Fr. Haguisan started the Outreach Program through a Mass and after which, it was followed by a Cathechism held by the teachers. It was very timely to have the Rosary Making Project as October is dedicated for the month of the Rosary. Mr. John Rovic Solanoy handled the native food baking lesson by selecting some parents who were interested to learn how to start a business through native food. Mr. Kenneth Parra and Ms. Rosario Mamon spearheaded the Rosary Making Project.
Aside from these projects, a short program was organized in the barangay centered on the spirited spiritual songs led by the teachers. The whole morning made the Barangay Sagrado 3 a memorable events. Not only a simple memory but a learning that may be able to start to make their lives meaningful.
