University of San Jose-Recoletos Cebu City
1947
Foundation of what was then Colegio de San Jose-Recoletos.
1951
A two-storey college building fronting Magallanes St. was built.
1959
Construction of San Agustin Hall Annex to Extend the whole length of the old structure.
1979 & 1985
Awarded “Outstanding Institution of Learning” by the City and Province of Cebu.
1980
Additional site as Basak, Pardo, Cebu City was purchased for High School and Elementary departments.
1981
Passed the formal survey conducted by PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities).
1984
Categorized as Level 2 in Various programs, until later it reached Level 3. It Attained the University status, thus its new name: University of San Jose-Recoletos.
1997
Celebrated its Golden Anniversary with Reco-Workshop pointing out its “new vision, mission and goals… which will set the direction of the university in the next Millenium.”
August 20, 2001
Granted full Autonomy status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
July 14, 2004
BOT’s approval of the purchase of a 20-hectare lot in Ormoc, Leyte in view of constructing a satellite school.
October 22, 2005
Blessing of the 5-storey St. Ezekiel Moreno Building in Basak campus to house the Colleges of Education and ICCT.

Groundbreaking ceremonies of the Balamban Campus, in partnership with Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, Inc.
