UNO-R celebrates feast of St. Augustine
BACOLOD CITY – The community of the University of Negros Occidental –Recoletos celebrated the feast of the Solemnity of our Father, St. Augustine, August 25, 2017.
The day started with the Concelebrated Mass led by Rev. Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR and joined by House Prior, Rev. Fr. Willaim Villaflor, OAR; Fr. President, Rev. Fr. Eduardo Celiz, Jr., OAR; Rev. Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR, Rev. Fr. Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR and Rev. Fr. Manuel Lipardo, OAR. Fr. Latoza shared in his homily that everyone is called to holiness and we should partake of the holiness of the saints for we are all brothers and sisters.  A procession from the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino to the main lobby followed the Mass. Triduum masses were held from August 22-24, 2017.
The community celebrated the family day with parlor games in the morning and a bowling competition among teams in the afternoon. A search for UNO-R King and Queen was held in the morning where Mr. Jose Caballero and Mrs. Jenalyn Libosada of the RED team won the title.
UNO-R celebrated the feast in advance because August 28 is a non-working holiday.
