UNO-R celebrates St. Nicholas of Tolentino
The UNO-R Campus Ministry Office headed by VP-Religious Affairs and University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Persiuz Joseph Decena, OAR, has sent invitations to the academic community to join in the celebration of the Septenary Masses in honor of St. Nicholas of Tolentino, Patron Saint of the university and his feast day on September 10. The Septenary Masses starts on September 3 and ends on September 9.
The Theme on September 3 is “St. Nicholas, a wanted child” with Fr. Persiuz Decena, OAR for the 8 am Mass and Fr. Enrico Peter Silab, OAR in the 6 pm Mass. On September 4 – Feast of Our Lady of Consolation and the theme is “ST. Nicholas a child with earnest thoughts”. Fr. William Villaflor, OAR is the celebrant for the 8 am Mass. On September 5, Fr. Ronel Gealon, OAR will celebrate the Mass with the theme, “Spreading the good odor of Christ”. Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR will share thoughts on the theme, “St. Nicholas’ Apostolic Zeal and spirit of prayer” for the September 6 Mass. Fr. Louie Gabinete, OAR will be the homilist on September 7 with the theme, “The Starr of Tolentino”. Rev. Fr. Eduardo Celiz, Jr., OAR will share his thoughts on the “Devotion to Mary and the Blessed loaves” on September 8 (Birthday of the Blessed Mother) at 8 am Mass. September 9, the last day of the Septenary, Fr. Persiuz Decena, OAR will talk on “St. Nicholas, the Patron of the poor souls in Purgatory”.
Bishop Patricio Buzon, SDB, DD. will be the Main Celebrant on the feast of St. Nicholas. The Concelebrated Mass will start after the 7 am Procession. Distribution of the blessed bread or Panicillos follow after the Mass.
