New La Salud marks Fr. Cabarles’ 48th anniversary

San Carlos City, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL–June 29, 2019, On the 48th Anniversary of the Ordination of Rev. Fr. Rafael E. Cabarles, OAR, the new image of Nuestra Señora de La Salud was unveiled.

The three-and-half-foot image is made of tugas or Molave (Virex parviflora Juss.). Local wood artisan Jesus Duroca from Sitio Panuolan, Barangay Buluangan sculpted the image that was installed at the Conference Hall of Monte Agudo-Recoletos.

Rev. Fr. Vicente Ramon, Jr., OAR, Sto. Tomas de Villanueva-Recoletos Prior, blessed the image while Rev. Fr. Rainier Alviola, OAR, campus minister, and Rev. Fr. Kenneth Pahamutang, OAR were in attendance.

Fr. Cabarles, meanwhile, basked in the continuous development of Monte Agudo Recoletos as a premier spititual and reflection destination in San Carlos City. In time for the students’ recollection season, the renovations and improvements at the property will end and it will be re-opened to the public.

On the other hand, Nuestra Señora de La Salud that took two months to finish will soon make her debut appearance at STV-R chapel.
