Sun rises for CST-R. The Holy Mass in honor of St. Thomas of Villanova begins as the sun rises over the 80-year old academic institution.
San Carlos City, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL—Instead of the weeklong student-teacher activities planned for the feast of St. Thomas of Villanova, Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos, Inc. opted for an austere celebration that focused on charity—the core of the patron’s apostolate.
Thomasian faculty and staff were also treated to a Saturday off from online classes and module making.
Prayer for Students. Fray Joel Alve, OAR is the main celebrant of the Holy Mass. Included among the petitions is the prayer that students withstand the challenges of the new normal of education.Feast Day Mass. Twenty-one chickens, six guinea fowls and six ducks are given away to selected school and seminary staff.Gasa ni Tomas. The second year of Gasa ni Tomas (Gift of Thomas) focuses on helping the faculty and staff of CST-R tide over the crisis that the pandemic has brought. Couple Melinda and Isaias Dela Paz receive guinea fowl and chickens so they can start up a backyard poultry holding.
