RAY de Talisay: remain hopeful and strong
Talisay City, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL–“My mouth shall be filled with your peace, and I will sing your glory”
The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the unprecedented crises that brings with it a lot of problems this 2020. It challenges our health, health services, loss of income, limited mobility and other struggles. It also challenges our faith in God during this pandemic. But this crisis is challenging us to bring about an increased sense of our humanity, community, and compassion to our self, others and to God.
The Recollect Augustinian Youth de Talisay urged youth of Talisay to remain hopeful and stronger to defeat trials, including this Covid-19 and other calamities by means of Holy Hour and Youth Advent Recollection 2020 last December 19, 2020.
The Holy Hour for Vocation was officiated by their Spiritual Director, Fray Randy Castillo, OAR. This Holy Hour was intended to pray for the fast recovery of the world, for vocation and most especially to build an atmosphere of prayer, mediation and encounter with God through the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament where the youth may lay their hearts before God.
Subsequently, they held an Advent Recollection for Youth with the theme “Christian Spirituality of Youth of Today” with their resource speaker, Fray Romeo Ben Potencio Jr., OAR. This advent recollection was organized to have a spiritual preparation before the celebration of Christmas by getting to know more about God’s personal love for His children, being able to encounter the Lord and experience personal conversion which will eventually impact their lives amidst this pandemic we are facing right now.
At this difficult time in our history, may all people of faith discover once more the enduring truth of the Gospel that the darkest of circumstances will soon give way and serves as our light as we journey towards Him in this Advent Season.
