SAN CARLOS CITY, Negros Occidental – Just as people were beginning to anticipate the last quarter of 2021 and the year-end holidays, at least 86 families lost their homes to a fire in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, last August 31, 2021, that started at around 11 in the morning.

Responding to the immediate call for relief of the fire victims, the Community Extension and Development Office (CEDO) deployed Abag Rekoleto Relief Operations. Five sacks of rice, two sacks of detergent powder, one box of hand towels, infant clothes, t-shirts and four boxes of canned goods were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) at the Evacuation Center in Margarita Village, Barangay II.

Relief goods for the fire victims came mainly from the donations of CST-R Batch 2005, Unilever Philippines through FA Nepan Sales Bacolod and the administration of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos.

Of the 310 affected individuals, 63 are school age children and five are still infants. CSWDO pleads through CEDO for more goods for the children and their families. CEDO continues to accept donations for them within the week.

Happy Kids. Despite the tragedy of losing their houses, these children rushed in happiness and excitement to receive their relief goods
