Five Recollect friars graduated in Theology!

Mira Nila Homes, QUEZON CITY – Four Recollects finished their Bachelor’s degree in sacred Theology while one Recollect finished his Master’s degree in Theology as the Recoletos School of Theology commenced its Academic Year 2022 -2023 with the Solemn Investiture of the Graduates of the Batch 2023 last June 3, 2023 at Our Lady of Consolation Parish.

The celebration began with the Baccalaureate Mass at 8:00 a.m. which was presided by Rev. Fr. Bernard C. Amparado, OAR, Prior Provincial, together with Rev. Fr. Jannel Abogado, OP, Dean of the Faculty of Sacred Theology of the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Fr. Mark Rochelle Renacia, OAR, Rector and President of Recoletos School of Theology, RST School Chapter, Council of Formators, and Priests from different congregations and dioceses. After the Mass, the Rite of the Solemn Investiture 2023 followed. 

Solemn Investiture 2023 was headed by Fr. Mark Rochelle Renacia, OAR, alongside Fr. Jannel Abogado, OP, and Fr. Bernard C. Amparado, OAR. Professors, Formators from different congregations, pious unions, dioceses, parents, family, and friends were present during the celebration.

Two graduates of the degree of Master of Arts in Theology Program. One came from the Order of Augustinian Recollects:

Thesis: Fr. Leo John Dehon on the Establishment of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through his spirituality.
Adviser: Fr. Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR

Nineteen graduates with a degree of Bachelor in Sacred Theology (SThB). Six got Latin Awards: Five Cum Laude and only one got Magna Cum Laude, Fray Joseph Neil Baygan, OAR. Among the graduates, four came from the Order of Augustinian Recollects. They were the following:

This year’s Address of Thanks was delivered by Fray Joseph Neil Baygan, OAR, the batch Valedictorian. The program ended with the singing of the RST Hymn and the rite was officially closed by Fr. Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR.
