BAGUIO CITY– Nine priests and three deacons from the Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay (Palawan)  celebrated their thanksgiving mass last July 20, 2023, at the Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Pilar in  Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary (CaReS), Baguio City.

The 11:30 AM Thanksgiving mass was presided by Fr. Gerald Palay and among the concelebrants were Fr. Jayson Resurreccion, Fr. Victor Crujido, Fr. Arnold Mendaro, Fr. ELeno Matas, Fr. Agapito  Lagrada, Fr. Joerey Alcantara, Fr. Jeffrey Abing, Fr. Bernardo Agbunag, Rev. Niño Cetenta, Rev.  William Julao, and Rev. Marlo Teleron.

The homily was given by Fr. Jayson Resurreccion, the Academic Dean of SdSJ. In his homily, Fr.  Resurreccion asked the faithful to continue praying for the sanctification and perseverance of priests.

“The yoke of Christ and our priesthood is not an end in itself, but rather a means only for God’s grace to flow in us… That is why brothers and sisters pray for us always that by patiently carrying the yoke of Christ, you may also share the abundant graces we receive.”, he said.

After the mass the traditional kissing of hands of the newly ordained priests was held inside the chapel, followed by the photo opportunity involving the CaReS community.

Several organizations of the CaReS community that were present during the Thanksgiving mass were: the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity (SARF), Cofradia de Nuestra Señora del Pilar,  CaReS Family Apostolate, Recollect Augustinian Youth, some seminarians, Seminary Lay Formators and Staff.
