On August 11, 2024, the community of St. Ezekiel Moreno Novitiate Recoletos in Antipolo City hosted its first-ever friendly sports games, featuring basketball and volleyball matches. The event brought together participants from the neighboring communities of Seniora Delapaz and Alimugmog.

The activity was organized with a dual purpose: to promote friendship and camaraderie among the participants through sports while also celebrating the feast of St. Ezekiel Moreno, patron saint of cancer patients and an Augustinian Recollect missionary. The event was marked by lively competition, sportsmanship, and a shared spirit of unity, reflecting the values and teachings of St. Ezekiel Moreno.

The successful conduct of these games not only highlighted the community’s commitment to physical wellness but also strengthened the bonds between the participants. Fr. Joseph Cyprian Panaligan, OAR, the sports organizer, expressed his gratitude to everyone who took part in the event. He believes that such gatherings will continue to foster a sense of unity, faith, and community engagement in the future.

As the first event of its kind at St. Ezekiel Moreno Novitiate Recoletos, it set a positive precedent for future gatherings that aim to combine faith, sports, and community spirit.
