Second Sunday of Advent

Gospel Bullet Points (Luke 3:1-6)
- This second Sunday of Advent, John the Baptist proclaims a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
- Responding to St. John’s proclamation, here are important things we can do this Advent to get ready to receive Christ this Christmas: (1) fill in every valley and make low every mountain; (2) straighten everything crooked and rough paths smooth. The mountains and valleys; the crooked and rough paths impede God’s grace from traveling into our hearts.
- What are you doing to straighten out the messes in your life and to “make straight” your path to Him? What depressing or discouraging valley of hardship needs to be filled with the joy of the Lord? What mountain of difficult obstacles must be made low with a stronger faith? What crooked ways of thinking do you have, just like a road that winds through a jungle, that blocks your way to holiness?
- Advent is the season to smooth out and clear up the roads to our hearts. In preparation for God’s coming into our lives, let us do a lot of cleaning and put things in order. Let us welcome Jesus this Christmas with clean hearts, lighted with love. In short, ITUWID ANG LIKU-LIKONG DAAN! ANG KULANG AY DAGDAGAN AT ANG LABIS AY BAWASAN. Thus, have a very meaningful and significant Christmas celebration!
