QUEZON CITY – The Recoletos School of Theology (RST) participated in the Conference of
Major Superiors in the Philippines (CMSP)’s World Day of Consecrated Life celebration on
February 2, 2025, held at Siena College in Quezon City. The event, themed “Consecrated
Persons as Pilgrims of Hope,” drew an attendance of 1,066 consecrated individuals.

Among the distinguished attendees were Most Rev. Elias Lumayag Ayuban, Jr. CMF, DD.,
Bishop of Cubao, Bishop Emeritus of Cubao, Most Rev. Honesto Ongtioco, DD., and
Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Papal Nuncio to the Philippines. The gathering echoed
Pope Francis’ message that the presence of consecrated persons manifests joy.

Speakers and participants emphasized the role of consecrated persons as sources of hope and joy
in their ministries, particularly in addressing pressing contemporary issues such as poverty,
inequality, environmental degradation, human rights violations, and youth empowerment.

The event was spearheaded by CMSP Co-Chairpersons Fr. Lino Gregorio V. Redoblado, OFM,
and Sr. Cecilia A. Espenilla, OP.
