Preparatory Course for Solemn Profession Held in Bogotá

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA – The “Curso de Preparación para Profesión Solemne,” a preparatory program for those about to take their solemn vows, officially commenced on July 19, 2025, at the historic El Convento de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. This initiative aims to equip aspiring religious individuals who are committed to deepening their faith and preparing for lifelong service.
Participants represent diverse regions from different provinces of the Order, showcasing broad national representation. This includes five from the Province of Sto. Thomas, three from the Province of San Nicholas de Tolentino, and two delegates from the Province of San Ezekiel Moreno, namely Frays Helfrid D. Palmis, OAR, and Neil Robert M. Alilain, OAR.

The course is facilitated by esteemed friars: Fray Fabián Martín Gómez, OAR, General Councilor and President of the General Secretariat for Initial Formation and Vocations; Kenneth Joseph L. Onda, President of the Secretariat of Initial Formation and Vocations Ministry (SIFVM); Fr. Danilo Janegitz, Provincial Councilor of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova; and Jhon Eduard Olarte from the Province of Our Lady of Candelaria.
They guide the young men through spiritual formation and reflection. This gathering marks a significant milestone in the faith journeys of the participants, serving as a crucial step toward their upcoming solemn professions. Organizers and community leaders express optimism that the program will strengthen their commitments, foster deeper devotion, and prepare them for impactful service within their spiritual communities.
