Gospel Bullet Points (Luke 14:1, 7-14)
“FOR EVERYONE WHO EXALTS HIMSELF WILL BE HUMBLED, BUT THE ONE WHO HUMBLES HIMSELF WILL BE EXALTED” (Lk 14:11).
- The gospel tells us of who we really are—we are all loved-sinners with gifts and flaws at the same time. Our worth and significance come from the Lord, and all that we have comes from Him. We can never claim that we have made all things by ourselves. At the table of the Banquet of Love, we should not be concerned with where He will place us, nor think of where we should be seated.
- Sadly, some people think they are superior to others because they are materially blessed, more intellectually gifted, higher up in the ladder of success, or members of certain spiritual or pious groups.
- Never belittle the life or faith of any person. And more importantly, recognize who you are before the Lord and be less concerned with pretending to be better than others.
