New Local Prior of Recoletos de Canlubang Installed

CANLUBANG, LAGUNA – Today, July 8, 2025, marked a significant day for the Recoletos de Canlubang community as Fr. Antonio Zabala Jr, was formally installed as their new Local Prior. The installation ceremony, held at the community’s chapel, was a solemn occasion attended by the members of the Recoletos de Canlubang community, Fray Amado Emmanuel Bolilia, and Fray Sixto Bitangjol.

The rite of installation was presided over by the Prior Provincial, Fr. Bernard Amparado. The ceremony began with a meaningful opening song, “Restless is my Heart,” a hymn dedicated to the spiritual journey of St. Augustine, the revered father of the Augustinian Order. This choice of song set a contemplative tone, reflecting the community’s Augustinian charism.

Fr. Zabala brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role. As Local Prior, he will be responsible for the spiritual and administrative well-being of the Recoletos de Canlubang community. This includes overseeing its daily operations, fostering fraternal life, and guiding its various ministries and apostolates. Notably, the main apostolate of the Recoletos de Canlubang community is the administration of San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Laguna.

The community looks forward to a fruitful term under Fr. Zabala’s leadership, anticipating continued growth in their spiritual journey and a renewed vigor in their service to the Church and the wider community, especially through their dedication to San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Laguna.
