Fray Joseph Dexter Palagtiosa Assumes Dual Roles at Recoletos de Cavite

CAVITE CITY—The recent re-installation of Fray Joseph Dexter Palagtiosa, OAR, as Local Prior of the Recoletos de Cavite community is a testament to his continued leadership and service. The solemn ceremony, presided over by Prior Provincial Fray Bernard Amparado, OAR, took place at the community chapel, solidifying Fray Palagtiosa’s renewed commitment to his responsibilities.

Beyond his role as Local Prior, Fray Palagtiosa has also been appointed as Chancellor of San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Cavite. This dual appointment highlights the link between the religious community and its educational apostolate. Recoletos de Cavite, which serves as the religious community for both San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Cavite City and San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Alfonso, Cavite, plays a vital role in ensuring that the schools’ operations are rooted in the Augustinian Recollect spirituality and mission.

As Local Prior, Fray Palagtiosa will be responsible for the spiritual well-being and governance of the friars in the community. Concurrently, as Chancellor, he will hold a key leadership position in the academic institution, guiding the college in its pursuit of “Caritas et Scientia” (Love and Knowledge).
