Another Promise Gets Delivered Through USJRAA-SCC Chapter, CST-R Batch 2000
SAN CARLOS CITY, Negros Occidenal-Through the solidarity of Augustinian Recollect graduates, another promise was fulfilled for the pupils of Ansulag Elementary School, one of the three adopted schools of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos.
It can be recalled that last February 17, 2022, Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR, CST-R president, and Rev. Fr. Vicente Ramon, Jr., OAR, director of the Community Extension and Development Office (CEDO), personally plastic arm chairs to one of the remotest public elementary schools in Barangay Rizal. It was during this visit that the two Augustinian Recollects saw the need to properly furnish the kindergarten classroom.
Then, in just two weeks, members of the University of San Jose-Recoletos Alumni Association-San Carlos City Chapter responded to this call of solidarity for the kids of Ansulag. The Josenians donated 15 kindergarten tables and 30 armchairs.
To make the children’s learning fun and engaging, a member of CST-R Batch 2000 also donated sensory toys and books.
Ansulag Elementary School Head Teacher Johnny Engada, together with kindergarten teacher Mariel Gomez-Abadies, Adopt-a-School Coordinator Madilyn Egloria, Teacher Frances Pearl Lawas and PTA President Annabelle Lawas, received the resources during the turn-over ceremony last July 10, 2022, at the CST-R Golden Eagles Grandstand.
Fr. Ramon, who is now outgoing CEDO director, welcomed the Ansulag ES team and thanked them for the partnership with CST-R. The religious administrator also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the adopted school as a token for paving the way for a network of volunteers and donors to reach the far-flung school.
