QUEZON CITY – On the occasion of the Jubilee-2025-themed gathering of the Recoletos friars and the Clergy of the Diocese of Antipolo at the Recoletos de Miranila community earlier today (April 7, 2025), the music video for the 9th Provincial Chapter of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno was formally launched.

(The said provincial chapter will start on May 19, 2025 at the Talavera House of Prayer-Recoletos in Cebu City.)

Inside the Our Lady of Consolation Parish church, the simple launching was held right after the talk of Fray Emilio Edgardo Quilatan, OAR on the Recoletos side of the history of the Diocese of Antipolo. The Provincial Secretary gave a brief introduction before the music video (MV) was played and projected onto the screens.

In a span of three minutes and 45 seconds, the MV integrated the official theme song of the 9th Provincial Chapter entitled, Balik-Tanaw (Reminisce), and a slideshow of selected photos and video clips featuring the life and mission of the Recoletos in the Province since its foundation in 1998, or even as far back as the arrival of the first OAR missionaries in the Philippines in 1606.

The lyrics and music of the theme song written in Tagalog were credited to Fray Giovanni Gil Magbojos, OAR, who is currently the Director/Principal of the Sacred Heart School of Cavite-Recoletos in Alfonso, Cavite. The Huni Habagat choir group of Cebu gave life to the song which was arranged by Mr. Jordan Verdida, a musician working in Palawan.

This is so far the third music video innovatively introduced by the Province as part of its preparation for the convocation of a provincial chapter. The first was launched in 2017, with the theme song, “Sharing our Vision”; then, in 2022, with the theme song, “Our Greatest Dream.”

A provincial chapter is an assembly of religious at the end of a three- or four-year term. The chapter participants a.k.a. capitulars representing the entire Province either by law or by election meet in the spirit of prayer to review the state of the Province, discuss key topics, share relevant experiences and ideas, and make decisions that will serve as the Province’s project to be implemented in the next administration.

Around 200 persons in all, half of whom were from the Diocese of Antipolo and the other half were OAR friars, participated in this historic assembly which was concluded with the concelebrated mass presided by the prior provincial, Fray Bernard C. Amparado, OAR.

A simple request to everyone: Please pray for the fruitful success of our 9th Provincial Chapter.
