Fray Renier Alviola Installed as Local Prior, New Chapel Blessed at Recoletos de Los Arcos

LOS ARCOS, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – Fray Renier Alviola, OAR, was formally installed as the new Local Prior of the Recoletos de Los Arcos community in a ceremony presided over by Fray Bernard Amparado, OAR, the Prior Provincial. The event, held on August 7, 2025, also featured the blessing of the community’s newly constructed chapel.

The ceremony began with the official rite of installation, in which Fray Alviola accepted his new role. As Local Prior, he will be responsible for guiding the friars in their spiritual and fraternal life, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the continued mission of the Order. Fray Amparado emphasized the importance of leadership rooted in service and humility, highlighting the unity between the local friars and the wider Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno.

Following the installation, the newly built chapel was officially blessed by the Prior Provincial. This significant rite consecrated the building as a sacred space for worship and communal prayer. The new chapel symbolizes the community’s growth and their renewed commitment to a life of prayer and fraternity.

The event was attended by members of the Recoletos de Los Arcos community, as well as fellow friars and guests from Recoletos de Hinatuan, who came together to celebrate this new chapter.
