Recoletos de Cavite hosts 2019 RAY-Luzon Regional Summit
CAVITE CITY – The San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite opens the three-day regional summit for the Recollect Augustinian Youth (RAY) in mainland Luzon on February 1, 2019.
The biennial event began with the Eucharistic celebration presided by the Prior Provincial, Rev. Fr. Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, with some OAR priests from all over Luzon as concelebrants.
In his homily, Father Selma explained the difference of the RAY from other parish youth organizations. The members of the RAY, he said, undergo formation in the Augustinian Recollect charism and spirituality.
He also emphasized the importance of the RAY as part of the family structure of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, and the members’ role especially in this “Year of the Youth” for the Philippine Church.
A total of 129 Recollect Augustinian Youth delegates hailing from all the Recoletos communities and apostolate areas in mainland Luzon came to participate in the summit: San Sebastian College–Recoletos (Cavite, Manila, and Canlubang), Recoletos Formation Center in Miranila, St. Ezekiel Moreno Novitiate–Recoletos in Antipolo, Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary in Baguio City, San Sebastian Parish in Manila, Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish in Tondo, Our Lady of the Visitation Parish in Pangasinan, and San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in Quezon City.
