10 Newly Invested CARAS for OLCP
Mira-Nila Homes, QUEZON CITY – Ten young men were invested to the Confraternity of Augustinian Recollect Altar Servers (CARAS) at Our Lady of Consolation Parish last March 31, 2019.
Fray Leander Barrot, OAR, Vice-Prior of the Recoletos Formation Center, presided the Eucharistic Celebration and the Rites of Acceptance and Investiture for CARAS.
These young men come from various Area Chapels within the jurisdiction of OLCP. After going through the necessary formation and scrutiny for CARAS, they were allowed to don their white vestments and cincture. This momentous event, the rite of investiture, was incorporated immediately after the homily during the 9:00 AM Mass. Led by CARAS-OLCP President, Mark Francis Mamauag, they expressed their commitment as part of the confraternity. “Here I am Lord, ready to serve you,” the striking line uttered by these ten committed young people.
Fray Leander presented the newly invested CARAS to the community. He also challenged young men to “live out their promises and be good examples.” As they face the congregation, the ten brave men were warmly applauded and welcomed by the faithful. The event was made even more memorable to them with of the presence of their respective parents and family members who witnessed the investiture.
The CARAS de OLCP is looking at the bright side that more young people will join the confraternity and hoping that one day they will also respond to the call for religious and priestly life. At present there are 17 new aspirants coming from the villages, subdivisions and chaplaincies who are undergoing initial formation program.
