The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos Religious Education Department under Rev. Fr. Ronel Gealon, OAR will hold its 18th Solidarity day on March 10, 2017.  The theme is “ Blessed are the Merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” (Mt. 5:7)

The  program will start with a walk for life.  This is a sacrificial walk to bring out the message to all that Unorians are for life.  “Stand up for life from womb to tomb! Raise your voice against death penalty, abortion, suicide, drug abuse, pre-marital sex, and extra-judicial killing. Everyone can give life, join us! March for life the UNO-Rian way” is the call of Fr. Gealon to all Uno-rians.  The walk will be from UNO-R around Libertad and back to UNO-R.

After the walk, a program shall be held at the Gymnasium. Opening ceremonies will be led by Fr. Gealon, the REEd faculty and the Campus Ministry staff. At 9:15 am, an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament shall bring everyone to the mood of prayer as a manifestation of the Recoletos character of being “Contemplative”.  Live Pure talks and forum follow the benediction at 9:45 am.  Group snacks and Group sharing will commence at 10:45 am  and will end with the praying of the Angelus.  The group sharing is a manifestation of the Recoletos character of being “Communitarian”.

In the afternoon, the forum shall resume after lunch.  The forum will be until 3:45 pm  and the eucharistic celebration will commence at 4 pm with Rev. Fr. Rocelo Villarosa as Presider and homilist and will be joined by the other OAR priests of Recoletos de Bacolod.

A candle lighting ceremony will cap the one-day activity.  This is a symbol of spreading the good news and the light to everyone, which is a manifestation of the “Apostolic” character of the Recoletos.
