St. Ezekiel Moreno Novitiate-Recoletos Antipolo City

Mid-1600s                      

The San Nicolas de Tolentino convent in Intramuros served as novitiate house for Recollects until 1941. Then, it was transferred to San Sebastian convent in Manila and, later, to Spain.

1970                                

Novitiate was completed at Seminario Mayor-Recoletos (now, CaReS), Baguio City.

1985                                

Novitiate house was transferred to Recoletos Formation Center, Mira-Nila, Quezon City.

May 1990                      

Purchase of a 1.2-hectare site for the present novitiate house in Antipolo City.

November 19, 1991    

Transfer of novitiate community to Antipolo.

December 5, 1991          

Inauguration and blessing of the said house by Bishop Protacio Gungon of Antipolo together with Fr. Carlos Imas, prior provincial, and Fr. Victor Lluch, Vicar Provincial.

1997                                  

Pre-Novitiate program began and was integrated in the house schedules.

2001                                  

10th Anniversary and homecoming events, with the theme: “Handog-Rekoleto sa Antipolo… Sampung Taong Tugon.”

2007                                    

Transfer of the pre-novitiate to separate house.
